Object description

As the general contractor, BREMER Hamburg GmbH is overseeing the turnkey construction of a modern logistics facility for the Nagel-Group. A new, high-performance facility for temperature-controlled fresh produce logistics is being built on a site spanning over 70,000 m² in Hamburg-Allermöhe. With this project, the Nagel-Group is modernizing and expanding its existing facility—with the goal of doubling its storage and handling capacities.

The expansion will take place in three construction phases:

Phase 1: Construction of a new parking garage for employees

Phase 2: Construction of a handling facility for fresh produce logistics and a modern office and administrative building

Phase 3: Construction of an additional logistics hall, scheduled to begin in May 2025

For construction phases 2 and 3, the existing structures had to be partially or completely demolished—a measure that was carried out while operations continued and required the highest level of coordination among all project participants.

The new transshipment hall is designed to meet the requirements of temperature-controlled logistics: Food products can be refrigerated there at temperatures ranging from 0 to +8°C before being distributed to retailers. The facility is complemented by an expanded parking and maneuvering area for semi-trailers, which further optimizes logistics processes.

The second construction phase was completed on schedule in April 2025. Work on the third phase will begin in May 2025. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for September 2026.
