Object description
Since 2023, a state-of-the-art logistics centre has been under construction for the Nagel Group in the Allermöhe district of Hamburg, to be realised in three coordinated construction phases. Following the successful handover of construction phases 1 and 2 to the client, work on the third and final phase is currently in full swing.
The new building comprises a high-bay cold store for frozen goods logistics, which connects seamlessly to the Nagel Group’s existing building complex. Construction is taking place whilst operations continue, without disrupting daily logistics processes – a logistical and organisational challenge that requires precise planning and close coordination between all trades.
Around 400 prefabricated components, including trusses up to 21 metres in length, are required for the construction of the new hall. These components are delivered by rail to the nearby station and transported from there to the construction site. Two assembly teams are erecting the hall structure and the planned stairwell within just three weeks.
All new buildings at the logistics centre are being constructed in accordance with the requirements of DGNB Gold certification and meet high environmental, economic and functional criteria.
